WHAT IS PEER SUPPORT?

Peer support harnesses the lived experience of mental ill-health and recovery to support others going through similar challenges and to foster a sense of understanding and hope. Peer supporters provide support in the form of accompaniment, a shoulder to lean on, a sympathetic ear and friendly conversations.

At Qonfr, we facilitate connections between people with mental health challenges and companions (peer supporters) based on shared lived experiences. These connections are aimed to increase social cohesion and engagement, enhance self-confidence and self-esteem, and promote feelings of understanding and belonging.

HOW CAN I GET A COMPANION?


  1. Visit our website at www.qonfr.com, and find the 'Get A Companion' button at the top right of the page. Fill in the sign up form to request a companion.

  2. We will send you the top 5 companions who best suit your request, from which you can choose who you would prefer to connect with.

  3. Meet your companion at your requested time and location, whether it be at the clinic, at a coffee shop or on a video call. Let the conversation flow!
